Paul C. Dinsmore
was an international speaker, executive coach and consultant on project management and organizational issues.  Mr. Dinsmore was Board President of DinsmoreCompass, a training and consulting group based in Rio de Janeiro focused on consulting, outsourcing, training, coaching and IT support. Prior to establishing his consulting practice in 1985, he worked for twenty years as a project manager and executive in the construction and engineering industry.

Mr. Dinsmore performed consulting and training services for major companies including IBM, ENI-Italy, Petrobrás, General Electric, Mercedes Benz, Shell, Morrison Knudsen, the World Trade Institute, Westinghouse, Ford, Caterpillar, and Alcoa. His speaking and consulting practice took him to Europe, South America, South Africa, Japan, China, and Australia. The range of projects where Mr. Dinsmore provided consulting services include company reorganization, project start-up, and training programs, as well as advisory and coaching functions for the presidents of major organizations.

As Executive Coach, he coached Company Owners and C-level executives in the fields of Oil & Gas, Construction, Engineering, Organizational Consulting as well as Health Care and Services.

He was the author of 20 books published in the United States, Japan, Brazil and Korea. Among them: How to Become a Project Management ProfessionalWinning in Business with Enterprise Project Management; Creating The Project Office – A Manager’s Guide to Leading Organizational Change, and the AMA Handbook of Project Management.  Paul’s book, Enterprise Project Governance co-authored with Luiz Rocha, was published in 2012 by AMACOM in the USA.

A long time member of the Project Management Institute (PMI®), Paul was honored with PMI’s Distinguished Contributions Award as well as the prestigious Fellow Award.  He is one of the early PMPs — Project Management Professionals (PMP number 126) certified by the Institute. Paul participated as a member of the PMI Standards (PMBOK) and Research Committees, was a former director of PMI’s Educational Foundation, and was founder and counselor of PMI Chapters in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil.

Mr. Dinsmore graduated from Texas Tech University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, as well as Postgraduate studies in Management at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation in São Paulo.  Paul Dinsmore passed away at his home in Rio on 21 September 2020 at the age of 79.
