Access to new resource related to Basic Project Management added to PMWL

15 May 2019 – Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to Introductory Project Management. The new resource is titled “Tips for Novice Project Managers” and is an article by Bruce Gay and published in PM Times in 2018.

This resource gives a highlight of the expriences of a project manager (Bruce Gay) to serve as useful hints for novice project managers. Some of the hints is as listed below:

  • Spend time up front to identify your stakeholders.
  • Understand who the project champion (or sponsor) is.
  • Use a Scope Document to ensure everyone has a clear definition of the project. Review the Scope Document with your stakeholders.
  • Have your project champion sign off the Scope Document at the start of the project results.
  • Create a Communication Plan to manage stakeholder interactions.
  • Take time to do project planning - do not rush into execution, etc.
