Free guide from CFA Institute now available through the PM World Library
2 April 2016 – Zagreb, Croatia – A new resource has been added to the PM World Library related to Risk Management. The new resource is titled “A Practical Guide to Risk Management.”
In 2011, Thomas S. Coleman in association with Research Foundation of CFA Institute published A Practical Guide to Risk Management. A central theme of this book is that “in reality, risk management is as much the art of managing people, processes, and institutions as it is the science of measuring and quantifying risk.” Risk measurement and quantitative tools are critical aids for supporting risk management, but quantitative tools alone are no substitute for judgment, wisdom, and knowledge. Risk measurement, per se, which is a task usually assigned to the “risk management” department, is in reality only one input to the risk management function.
