Major new paper by American construction industry executive added to PMWL

27 August 2019 – Dallas, TX, USA – A major new paper by Bob Prieto has been added to the PM World Library.  The paper is titled “Artificial Intelligence Ethics In the Project Management and Civil Engineering Domains” and was published in the August 2019 edition of the PM World Journal.

According to the paper’s introduction introduction, “Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled systems, machines and algorithms undertaking cognitive tasks raise a myriad of ethical issues. These range from ensuring that the AI enablement does not lead to direct or indirect harm to humans or the broader environment which we are part of. Broader ethical questions also arise with respect to the moral status of AI and creating AI more intelligent than humans. These later items are not addressed in this paper….”

Bob Prieto is a senior executive and recognized leader within the infrastructure, engineering and construction industries. He is a member of the ASCE Industry Leaders Council, National Academy of Construction, a Fellow of the Construction Management Association of America and member of several university departmental and campus advisory boards. He previously served as both Chairman of the Engineering and Construction Governors of the World Economic Forum and co-chair of the infrastructure task force formed after September 11th by the New York City Chamber of Commerce. Previously, he served as Chairman of Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) corporation.
