Barriers to Agile implementation in India

Agile project management is proving popular in Europe and North America; why isn’t it being embraced by more Indian IT organizations?

10 February 2015 – Dallas, London, Sydney – “PMS, Managerial and Cultural Barriers to Agile Implementation in Indian IT Project-based Organizations”, a new paper by Subhashish Sengupta, PMP and Dr. Debashish Sengupta, has been added to the PM World Library. According to the authors: “Our initial pilot study indicated that Agile implementation has not been too even in Indian IT-Project based companies. This is generally attributed to very individualistic behaviour and lack of collaboration. Our initial studies also revealed the performance management systems and managerial behaviour as being largely responsible for such individualistic behaviour among team members, which in turn poses a barrier to the success of agile project management approach in Indian IT companies.”
