BC Open Textbook: Project Management by Adrienne Watt

Access to freely downloadable textbook from the BC Open Textbook Project in Canada now available in PM World Library

16 November 2016 – Dallas, London, Sydney – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) in the PPM Books section.  The resource is called BC Open Textbook: Project Management by Adrienne Watt and is freely downloadable.

This book was produced and made available through the BC Open Textbook Project, an initiative launched in 2012 by BCcampus in British Columbia to make higher education more accessible by reducing student cost through the use of openly licensed textbooks. The project was asked to create a collection of open textbooks aligned with the top 40 highest-enrolled subject areas in the province. A second phase was announced in the spring of 2014 in which an additional 20 textbooks targeting trades, technology, and skills training would be developed. This book covers the basics of project management, including the processes of initiation, planning, execution, control and close out that all projects share.

Adrienne Watt holds a Computer Systems Diploma (BCIT), a Bachelor’s in Technology (BCIT) and a Master’s in Business Administration (City University). Since 1989, Adrienne has worked as an educator, gaining extensive experience developing and delivering business and technology curriculum to post-secondary students. During that time she ran a successful software development business. In the business she worked as an IT Professional in a variety of senior positions including Project Manager, Database Designer, Administrator and Business Analyst. Recently she has been exploring a wide range of technology-related tools and processes to improve delivery methods and enhance learning for her students.
