160313 - Crnkovic - CMI LOGOThe Change Management Institute (CMI) is a global, independent, not-for-profit organization, founded in 2004 by the group of experienced change managers, set up to promote and develop the profession of change management internationally. Since 2005, the CMI has held regular workshops and speaker events on a range of change management topics. The Change Management Institute (CMI) and APMG-International (APMG) have formed a strategic partnership to develop the CMI Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) and to promote its worldwide use and adoption as best practice for Change Management.

In 2008, CMI launched the Change Management Practitioner Competency Model which has been regularly updated every two years and, most recently, a two-tiered Accreditation scheme with the establishment of an entry level ACM Foundation Level and the ACM Master Level for senior managers. In 2014 they opened up its membership to a broader base of change professionals including offering corporate members more opportunities to engage with the community and for the first time have opened up membership to students.  Chapters of CMI can be found in Australia, China, UK, Canada, New Zealand and USA.
