4 February 2020 – Mumbai, India – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to sustainability and project management. The new resource is titled “Integration, Application and Importance of Collaboration in Sustainable Project Management”, by Larsson and Larsson published in Sustainability 2020 and available for download from iwaponline.com.

The paper chiefly focuses on sustainable project management, in relation to complex infrastructure maintenance work that has long-lasting environmental and social effects. The authors, through this paper have tried to present the fact that different collaborative practices lead to different aspects of sustainable project management being affected.

With an aim to increase the understanding of how to integrate and apply collaboration as part of sustainable management in infrastructure maintenance projects, the authors analysed data which was directly sourced from interviews they conducted with key respondents. The data was collected regarding a unique public maintenance contract procured and managed by a municipality in Sweden. The effect of collaboration and its implications on managerial practices as well as stakeholder engagement are highlighted.
