16 April 2020 – Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to Project Management and Careers and Jobs. The new resource is titled “How to Become a Project Manager: Two Paths”, and is a blog post on the workfront website in 2018.

This resource is targeted at both accidental and planned project managers with hints on how to thrive as a project manager regardless of which category one falls into.

  1. The Accidental Project Manager: Though not a project manager by intent, such project managers can become strong as managers. Such managers are to: Take stock of the experience you already have; Determine the knowledge and skills you need; Take advantage of learning opportunities; Implement what you’ve learned; and Decide on your next move.
  1. Planned Project Management Education and Certification: Though planned, there still exist some things necessary to stand out as a manager: Commit to becoming a project manager; Decide which certification you will pursue; Begin your project management education; Prepare for and take your certification exam; and Maintain your certification.

To access this new resource, go to the Project Management Career and Jobs section of the library at https://pmworldlibrary.net/ppm-careers-and-jobs/, click on “Careers”, and scroll down to resource. Must be a registered trial, student or full member and logged-in to access.
