26 May 2018 – Mumbai, India – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to Portfolio Management. The new resource is titled “Innovation Project Portfolio Management: A Meta-Analysis” published in the International Journal of Product Development and authored by Martin Lerch and Patrick Spieth.

When an organization deals with multiple innovation projects and maintains a project portfolio there has to be a system to optimally allocate resources, which is why Innovation Project Portfolio Management (IPPM) has been gaining more and more importance. Therefore, innovation project portfolios are used to maximize investments’ value in innovation projects. This paper summarizes the current IPPM understanding, identifies current IPPM issues, and analyses IPPM’s results and empirical research focus along with future challenges.  Factors to be further assessed in research and corporate practice are identified.
