Inspirational Leadership and the role of a vision

PMI Fellow Thomas Walenta shares some leadership ideas from decades in the PM business

141107 – Dallas, London, Sydney – Thomas Walenta, PMP, PMI Fellow, former member of the PMI board of directors and longtime PMI leader in Germany has recently retired from IBM and joined the PM World global advisory team. He has also authored an article in the November PM World Journal, now included in the PM World Library. According to Thomas, “leadership is absolutely required to formulate, communicate and maintain a vision and convince the team members that they follow it again and again. This should inspire the team and keep them onboard for the full course of the project, otherwise much effort is needed to permanently keep the team on track, by shorttime motivation, forcing or threatening Inspiration in this context means: Infuse an idea and make it the wish of each member to follow it.” To read this new article on project management leadership, go to the author’s showcase page in the library at https://pmworldlibrary.net/authors/thomas-walenta-pmp/ and click on the title.
