11 May 2017 – Almaty, Kazakhstan – A new resource has been added to the PM World Library related to project management in New Zealand. The new resource is titled “Driving Business Performance: KPMG’s 2017 New Zealand Project Management report”.

KPMG recently released a call to action report, providing results of a 29-question online survey conducted in New Zealand on key topics such as Project management offices, Effectiveness of portfolio management practices, Governance and leadership and Benefits realization. About 188 respondents, including project management professionals, senior executives and business representatives involved in the high-level management or governance of projects participated in the survey.

The survey shows current global trends in program and project management, provides views on the challenges New Zealand’s project management community faces and offers recommendations for overcoming them.

According to the report, in New Zealand the traditional Project Managers Offices (PMOs) are taking responsibility for the management and execution of projects; however, they fail to see projects as business investments designed to reduce costs and grow revenue. It is necessary for PMOs to take responsibility for optimizing spend and capital stewardship and maximizing value from the portfolio of projects through effective cost management and value realization.
