15 April 2016 – Zagreb, Croatia – A new resource has been added to the PM World Library related to Building Information Modeling and Project Management. The new resource is titled “Level 2 BIM (BSI).”

The UK Government Construction Strategy (GCS) as well as the Low Carbon Construction Innovation & Growth Team: Final Report by Paul Morrell – outlined the key target of reducing the cost of Government construction projects by 20%.  Idea was that all central Government departments require tendering suppliers to demonstrate collaborative 3D Level 2 BIM maturity through defined and compliant information and data on projects. Final achievement is development of digital standards for the construction sector – Level 3 BIM – under the Digital Built Britain Strategy.

160415 - Plecas - BIM LEVEL 2 logoFor easy transition to Level 2 BIM, the BIM Task Group launched a Level 2 BIM website on 4 April 2016. Developed and hosted by BSI (The British Standards Institute), the site will continue to evolve from launch, providing a common and clear point of reference for BIM documentation, standards and guidance created in partnership with the BIM Task Group. BSI published a verification scheme for PAS 1192-2:2013 Information management for the capital/delivery phase of construction projects. PAS 1192-2:2013 is free for download due to government and industry sponsorship. For overview of BIM standards and free downloads, visit BIM Level 2 - Standards.
