NASA Disasters Program

Access to new resource related to climate change and natural disasters added to PM World Library

11 November 2020 – Dallas, TX, USA – A new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to preparing for or responding to natural disasters and emergencies.  The new resource titled “NASA Disasters Program“ is a website that provides data and information about natural disasters around the world, provided by the NASA Earth Sciences team.

The Disasters Applications area promotes the use of Earth observations to improve prediction of, preparation for, response to, and recovery from natural and technological disasters. Disaster applications and applied research on natural hazards support emergency preparedness leaders in developing mitigation approaches, such as early warning systems, and providing information and maps to disaster response and recovery teams.

To access this resource, go to the Solving Global Problems section of the PMWL at https://pmworldlibrary.net/solving-global-problems/. Under Emergency Response, select “General Disaster Response”.  Free access, registration and login not required, but please consider the free trial membership.
