NIGP Glossary of Procurement Terms

Access to glossary of public contracting and procurement terms from the National Institute for Government Procurement in USA added to PMWL

25 July 2017 – Dallas, TX and Washington, DC, USA - A new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) in the Glossaries and Dictionaries section.  The resource is titled "NIGP Glossary of Procurement Terms."

Program and project management professionals need to understand the meanings of many PPM terms and phrases.  Knowledge of specialized acronyms and terms used for communications, contracting and procurement, finance and cost control, general management, leadership, quality, scheduling and time management, and other skills and functions can also be very useful.  This is especially true when crossing borders or industries.

The NIGP Glossary of Procurement Terms is available from the National Institute for Governmental Procurement (NIGP) in the United States.  NIGP was founded in 1944 and is America’s largest association focused exclusively on the development, support and promotion of the public procurement profession.  The Institute is globally recognized for its educational programs, technical resources, and as a thought leader on public procurement issues. Together with its 73 North American affiliates, The Institute supports a network of thousands of professionals.

To access this new resource, go to Glossaries section in the PMWL at https://pmworldlibrary.net/glossaries-and-dictionaries/, click on “Glossaries for Applications, Skills and Support Functions”, then scroll down to “Contracting and Procurement Terms”.  Free access, but must be registered and logged in.
