Public Sector Project Management in Latvia

Application and Sustainability Problems examined based on recent research

141109 – Dallas, USA and Riga, Latvia – Public Sector Project Management Application and Sustainability Problems, Case of EU Member State – Latvia is the title of a paper added to the PM World Library this month by Emils Pulmanis, Deputy Director of Project Implementation and Monitoring Department at the Latvian State Regional Development Agency in Riga. Emils is also a PhD candidate at the University of Latvia. According to his abstract, “The application of Project Management (PM) tools and techniques in public sector is gradually becoming an important issue in developing economies, especially in a new development country like Latvia where projects of different size and structures are undertaken. Public sector project management in Latvia became popular in recent years as there are different types of public funding sources available.

The paper describes public sector project management practice in Latvia. Study evaluates efficiency and sustainability factors.
