The Awful Truth about Dog Shelter Statistics

Access to new resource related to domestic animal rescue added to PMWL

25 February 2021 – Dallas, TX, USA – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library related to animal rights and protection.  The resource is an article titled “The Awful Truth about Dog Shelter Statistics” and is a blog post on Hound101.com by Laura Horton.

Article discusses the situation in dog shelters around the United States, statistics on dog euthanasia and where there are no-kill dog shelters. There is no statutory requirement for Shelter and Rescue organizations to provide information regarding animals in their care. A study carried out by PEEVA in 2019, estimated the number of pets euthanized in U.S. shelters every year to be between 9.4 to 9.6 million.

Information is provided on why dogs end up in shelters, how to find a home for your dog if necessary and how to adopt a dog. Read this article; help save a dog.

To access this resource, go to the Solving Global Problems section of the PMWL at https://pmworldlibrary.net/solving-global-problems/, scroll down to “Animal Rights and Protection”, click on “Domestic Animal Rescue”, then scroll down and click on the title.
