Glossary of Earned Value Management Terms

Access to glossary of EVM terms from US Department of Defense added to PMWL

15 April 2017 – Dallas, TX and Washington, DC, USA - A new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) in the Glossaries and Dictionaries section.  The new resource is titled "Glossary of Earned Value Management Terms."

Program and project management professionals need to understand the meanings of many PPM terms and phrases.  Knowledge of specialized acronyms and terms used for communications, contracting and procurement, finance and cost control, general management, leadership, quality, scheduling and time management, and other skills and functions can also be very useful.  This is especially true when crossing borders or industries.

The Glossary of Earned Value Management Terms is available from the Performance Assessments and Root Cause Analyses (PARCA) Earned Value Management division in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, which serves as the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) focal point for all policy, guidance and competency relating to EVM.  Earned Value Management (EVM) is one of DoD’s and industry’s most powerful program planning and management tools. The purpose of EVM is to ensure sound planning and resourcing of all tasks required for contract performance.

To access this new resource, go to Glossaries section in the PMWL at https://pmworldlibrary.net/glossaries-and-dictionaries/, click on “Glossaries for Applications, Skills and Support Functions”, then scroll down “Earned Value Management” to find this resource.  Free access, but must be registered and logged in.
