The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan (APK). Established on March 1, 1995 at the initiative of the First President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the APK is a fundamental element of the political system of Kazakhstan. It holds together the interests of all ethnic groups, and ensures the strict observance of the rights and freedoms of citizens, regardless of their nationality. The activities of the APK are aimed at implementing the state national policy, ensuring socio-political stability and improving the efficiency of interaction between state and civil society institutions in the sphere of inter-ethnic relations in the country.
