Bill Young PhD, MBA, M.Eng,B.Eng, CPPD, FIEAust, FAIPM, CEO of PMS Project Management Services P/L, and Director of Professional Solutions Australia (2005). Bill has over 30 years’ experience in engineering, business strategy, and project management. He has been responsible for a diverse range of chemical processing and mining developments around the world and has worked throughout Australia / NZ, in Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa. He is the former President of the Australian Institute of Project Management (2007-2011), and initiated and is President of the new Asia Pacific Federation of Project Management (www.apfpm.org). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia, and the Australian Institute of Project Management. Bill has been awarded a number of Government and industry international academic fellowships. Educated in engineering and business: Bachelor of Engineering (Mech), Master of Engineering – Building Construction Management (1993), Master of Business Administration (1997), PhD in project management and construction economics in Asia (2002). Certified Practicing Project Director by the AIPM.
Dr. Young has extensive expertise in delivering large complex projects globally, with outstanding track record in formulating projects to drive business initiatives, expansions and new developments to deliver real business value. Strong experience in strategy and communications, risk management, change management, and engineering/business analysis. Extensive experience in managing international EPC and EPCM contracts. Regarded as an expert in occupational health, safety, and environmental matters, Bill has published extensively on issues to do with Project Management and presented at numerous international conferences over the past decade. He has completed a number of Projects in China since 2004, and moved to China with his family in late 2009. He currently is an academic in Business and Project Management at Beijing Jiaotong University, and conducts consultant and entrepreneurial activities.
