Marco Sampietro is Associate Professor of Practice in Leadership, Organization, and Human Resources at SDA Bocconi School of Management. Additionally, he is Director of the Project Management course and of the Design Thinking and Agile course at Bocconi University. At SDA Bocconi, he holds the positions of Director of the Agile Management program and Director of Project Management programs. He is also a Faculty Member at SDA Bocconi Asia Center.

With extensive experience, Marco has conducted research and training projects for over 250 organizations in both the private and public sectors. His research covers various aspects of project management (strategic project management, project portfolio management, project followership, human factors in project management), agile management, leadership, and business simplification.

He has authored over 70 publications, including books, articles, papers, and case studies. He has been a Visiting Professor at the International Hellenic University, Anton de Kom University of Suriname, and the University of Queensland. For three years, he was a speaker at the annual Project Management Challenge conference organized by NASA. Marco is the principal author of the Tiscali – D case, published by The Case Centre, and a two-time winner of the Best-Selling Case award. The case has subsequently become part of The Case Centre's Classic Case Collection.

Marco earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Finance from the University of Insubria and a Ph.D. in Vocational Education and Training from the University of Bremen.
