Omar M. Al-Mourad is a construction and project-management professional with over 28 years’ experience spanning UAE mega-projects, government PMOs, and independent consultancy. He currently serves as Group Systems & Processes Manager at Engineering Contracting Company (ECC) in Dubai, where he leads a multidisciplinary team applying business-process improvement, Robotic Process Automation, and AI-driven tools across the group’s project-control and administrative workflows. He first addressed the resource-intensity of the construction industry in a 2007 article for Arabian Business, written while serving as Planning Manager on Nakheel’s “The World” mega-development in Dubai.
He holds an M.Sc. in Engineering Systems Management (American University of Sharjah) and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (UAE University), is a licensed structural engineer, and is an Associate Value Specialist (AVS, SAVE International). Alongside his executive career he has sustained a 20-plus-year research practice on artificial intelligence in construction, with peer-reviewed publications including “A Quantitative Knowledge-Based Approach for the Preliminary Design of Tall Buildings” (Elsevier).
