Prof Jan Saint-Macary, PhD

Jan Saint-Macary, MBA, Ph.D. is Professor of Strategy and Management, and Director of the Department of Administrative Sciences at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. He is a graduate of Concordia and McGill Universities in Canada and Drew University in the United States. He held various management positions at the First National State Bank of New Jersey in the United States, and then at Royal Bank of Canada in Montreal. As a consultant and trainer, he has worked in the service and industrial sectors in Canada, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. His research interests and publications focus on corporate strategy, project management, decision making and financial institutions. He is the co-author of a highly cited article On Opening Decision Making: The View from the Black Stool, written in collaboration with Henry Mintzberg, a leading expert in the field.
