Conflicts and wars seem to be a continuing reality in too many parts of the world. Such conditions create enormous social and other problems as infrastructure, livelihoods, economies and societies are often destroyed or heavily damaged. Recovery from conflicts and wars requires programs and projects of all kinds. The situation is really another type of crisis or disaster recovery. Modern program and project management can contribute to more rapid and successful recovery and rebuilding.
