Most consumer products are planned, designed, created and launched via programs and projects. Project management therefore plays a critical role in how fast and successfully new products are brought to market. Innovation also plays a critical role in today's highly competitive global economy. Unfortunately, many consumer product companies do not have formal project management processes, training and expertise. This is especially true of smaller organizations, including startups.
