Dr. Aurangzeb Z. Khan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Sciences at COMSATS University in Islamabad, Pakistan. He introduced Pakistan's first master’s degree program in project management at his university in the fall semester 2008. Dr. Khan is the recipient of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan’s Best Teacher Award 2007 and in 2010-11 he spent one year under the Fulbright Program as a Post-Doc Research Fellow at the University of Maryland’s Project Management Center of Excellence. His prime areas of research interest are project stakeholder management and engagement, and project monitoring and evaluation, which he teaches to project management graduate-level students. COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) was founded in 1998. Initially named the ‘COMSATS Institute of Information Technology’ it was upgraded to a public-sector university in April 2018 under an act passed by the Pakistan federal parliament. At its Islamabad campus COMSATS introduced its ‘Master in Project Management’ (MPM) degree program in the fall semester 2008. Widely acknowledged and acclaimed, well over a hundred professionals from diverse industries and from both the public- and private-sectors benefitted through their participation in the MPM which was the first of its kind in Pakistan. In 2011 the MPM was transformed into the ‘Master of Science in Project Management’ (MSPM) program and a research thesis component was included.
