Dr. Rizwan A. Sheikh is a globally recognized AI governance and strategy leader, academic innovator, practitioner-scholar, and inventor with over 25 years of experience. He has served as Affiliate Faculty at Harvard Medical School, MIT Sloan School of Management, and Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He has also held senior academic leadership roles — including Founding Dean of Executive Education, Founding Associate Dean, and Director of MBA Programs — at prestigious institutions in collaboration with Harvard, MIT, Cornell, and Cambridge.
As Founder and Chief Artificial Intelligence & Innovation Officer (CAIO) of Global AI Excellence (GAIX), he leads enterprise AI strategy, IT governance, and responsible AI adoption across research universities, healthcare, financial services, and complex distributed organizations. He serves as Professor of Practice in AI Strategy, AI Governance, and Generative AI at the International School of Business & Entrepreneurship (ISBE USA). Dr. Sheikh serves as Honorary Academic Advisor and Peer Reviewer for the PM World Journal and Library — contributing expertise in AI governance, responsible AI, and AI-integrated project management.
Dr. Sheikh is the Inventor of a Patent-Pending AI Governance Platform covering 160+ AI regulations across 60+ countries. He has delivered AI strategy, enterprise transformation, and AI governance engagements for healthcare organizations and Fortune 500 companies including AT&T, PepsiCo, Merrill Lynch, Progressive Insurance, STERIS Corporation, UAB Health System, and Eaton Corporation. He served as Senior Executive at Deloitte Consulting, leading enterprise IT strategy and digital transformation for global clients across financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, telecom, and the public sector. He has also served as CEO of SGH Hospitals Group, overseeing $1B+ in annual revenue across 10 hospitals in the Middle East.
Rizwan earned his B.Sc. in Information Systems from The Ohio State University and MBA from Cleveland State University in the United States.
