21st March 2024 – Mumbai, India – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to use of big data in Project Management. The new resource is a paper titled “Agile Project Management Approach and its Use in Big Data Management” by Patrícia Franková, Martina Drahošová and Peter Balcoa and published in Procedia Computer Science, Vol. 83 in 2016.

The paper provides guidance on effectively handling big data projects through adaptable methods. It recommends breaking down tasks into smaller, manageable steps, starting with identifying problems and understanding what information is needed. Then, it suggests forming a small team to experiment with company data on specialized platforms to find solutions. Additionally, the article offers insights on project planning, such as determining the appropriate data quantity and ensuring its security. It emphasizes that the project management approach should align with factors like project size, significance, and organizational culture.

In simpler terms, the authors suggest that dealing with big data becomes easier when approached methodically and collaboratively.
