Access to International Federation of Consulting Engineers added to PM World Library
6 March 2016 – Zagreb, Croatia – A new resource has been added to the PM World Library related to international standards, and contracting and procurement. The new resource is titled “Fédération Internationale Des Ingénieurs-Conseils (FIDIC).”
FIDIC (Fédération Internationale Des Ingénieurs-Conseils) is an international standards organization, best known for the FIDIC family of contract templates. FIDIC represents globally the consulting engineering industry. As such, the Federation promotes the business interest of firms supplying technology-based intellectual services for the built and natural environment. Founded in 1913 by three countries each wholly or partly francophone – Belgium, France and Switzerland. Today, FIDIC membership covers over 97 countries worldwide. FIDIC publishes international standard forms of contracts for work and for clients, consultants, sub-consultants, joint ventures and representatives, together with related materials such as standard pre-qualification forms.
FIDIC also publishes business practice documents such as policy statements, position papers, guidelines, training manuals and training resource kits in the areas of management systems (quality management, risk management, business integrity management, environment management, sustainability) and business processes (consultant selection, quality based selection, tendering, procurement, insurance, liability, technology transfer, capacity building). The backbone of FIDIC’s publications is FIDIC’s selection of Contracts and Agreements: EPC/Turnkey Projects, Plant and Design Build Contract, The Short Form, Construction Contract & Subcontract, Works of Civil Engineering Construction, Electrical & Mechanical Works, Design-Build and Turnkey.
25-27 September, this year, FIDIC International Infrastructure Conference will take place in Marrakesh, the major international event that is dedicated exclusively to the infrastructure sector. For more information, click here
