22 April 2016 – Zagreb, Croatia – A new resource has been added to the PM World Library on the subject of Risk Management. The new resource is titled “Global Association of Risk Professionals - GARP”.
The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) is a not-for-profit independent organization and a globally recognized membership association for risk managers. It was founded in 1996, with headquarters in New Jersey, USA. GARP has over 150 000 members in 195 countries around the world. Their goal is to help create a culture of risk awareness within organizations, from entry level to board level.
GARP provides a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program for their members that offers risk professionals access to the very latest in risk education and also an approach to industry surveys, special reports, news, analysis, whitepapers webinars and more. You can become Affiliate Member for free (includes student members), while Individual Members and Certified Members pay annual fee.
GARP offers two professional certification programs, FRM (Financial Risk Manager) and ERP (Energy Risk Professional), rigorous and very well respected across the globe. GARP has 76 Chapter Directors, representing 58 chapters in 34 countries in the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe and Middle East and provides the community opportunities to meet and learn from one another.
