Inside the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP)

New Resource in the Library

A balanced EU-US Free Trade Agreement that aims at enhancing economic growth, global economic rules and a stronger transatlantic partnership

19 November 2015 – Milan, Italy – A new resource has been added to the PM World Library in the Other Information category. The new resource is titled “Inside the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP)”.

The European Unicion (EU) is negotiating an ambitious trade and investment deal with the USA. The TTIP will create new trade and investment opportunities for companies, big and small, and new jobs. For consumers, it will cut prices and widen choice, while keeping the EU's high standards for consumer protection, social rights and environmental rules. It will also boost Europe's influence in the world – by shaping global trade, projecting our values and attracting more investment. The European Commission has been working on the TTIP since 2013, when the EU governments gave the institution the mandate to negotiate.

151119 - EC logoInside TTIP gives an overview of what will be the changes in trade between the US and the EU. The remaining negotiations will be held in January 2016 onwards and the final text will be evaluated and voted by the institutional bodies in charge. The TTIP agreement wants to set the opportunity for strengthening economic growth, both in the US and in the EU, increasing the cooperation between regulators and easing transatlantic businesses, especially for SMEs, as respecting two types of rules can be costly for them.

The presentation “Inside TTIP” explains what project managers and PM World Library members might like to know about the 24 chapters of the TTIP.
