Posted on January 24, 2016

A study on how to improve knowledge sharing through right strategies and actions

24 January 2016 – Milan, Italy – A new resource has been added to the PM World Library related to projects and project management in Industries for Economic & Social Development. The new resource is titled “Knowledge Sharing Strategies for Project Knowledge Management in the Automotive Sector”.

160125 - Gasparini - Knowledge IMAGEFollowing media and financial markets attention to automotive sector, this paper presents the results of a research conducted in Volvo Technology, aimed at identifying a framework to use in the company’s project knowledge management. This field is getting more importance in companies where several high-tech and innovative projects are conducted at the same time and, consequently, knowledge sharing represents a key element for the organization’s positive performance.

The theoretical framework of knowledge sharing behavior uses as variables the type of employees – contributor or receiver of information – and the strategy – personification or coordination –. Authors’ recommendation is to promote the “Communities of practice”.
