Resource provided by Maumita Patwary
26 February 2024 – Mumbai, India – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to Project Stakeholders and Benefits Assessment. The new resource titled "Stakeholder Benefit Assessment: Project success through management of stakeholders” is a paper by Agnar Johansen, Petter Eik-Andresen and Anandasivakamar Ekambaram published in the Procedia - Social and Behavioural Sciences journal in 2014. This resource explores the strategies and challenges involved in identifying and exploiting project opportunities within the context of uncertainty management.
The analysis and management of opportunities and dangers within project management contexts is the main topic of the article. The project view, the project owner view, and the society view are three stakeholder viewpoints that are used to analyze opportunities. We can see the emphasis o subjective opportunity evaluation and how decision-making is heavily influenced by stakeholders' assessments of opportunities' value and prospective benefits.
Moreover, managing opportunities may require implementing separate procedures or giving special attention within traditional risk management frameworks. The article also highlights the crucial role of understanding stakeholders' values and motivations in identifying and capitalizing on opportunities successfully. To conclude, we can say that the intricate nature of stakeholder analysis and the importance of flexibility related to the changing dynamics of stakeholders throughout the project's lifecycle is immense.
