Roberto Mori graduated from the Politecnico of Milan with M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. He has a 50 years extensive background in Project Management of international lumpsum turn-key projects of industrial plants, oil & gas and iron & steel sectors, implemented in many countries worldwide: USA, Mexico, Venezuela, Trinidad, Germany, Libya, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Uzbekistan, India, China, South Korea. He has covered several functions in project teams, up to the roles of Senior Project Manager, Projects Director and Portfolio Manager with main focus on coordination and management of working multi-cultural groups in challenging environments and contexts. His background also includes experience as Procurement Director and Operations Manager for the same type of projects, programs and portfolios as well as experience in international arbitrations for project contractual disputes according to ICC rules and procedures. He recently retired from his last position of Director Special Projects at Tenova, one of the world’s leaders for iron, steel, mining and material handling technologies. (www.tenovagroup.com)

Roberto Mori has been member of the Italian National Association of Plant Engineering (ANIMP) since the early 90’s, taking major parts in the activities performed by its Project Management Section, IPMA Italy, of which he was President until February 2015. He was Chairman of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) 2013- 2014, after having served as Vice President and President for four years. He has been Prize Winner of the IPMA Project Excellence Award 2006 and obtained the IPMA Otto Zieglmeier’s Award for Excellent Project Management Performance in 2008. Former member of the IPMA EU Task Force for the relationship with EU Institutions, past Chairman of IPMA Ethics Committee, today he is Chairman of IPMA Advisory Committee 2024 – 2026. Roberto has been a member of Scientific Committees for multiple international conferences, author of published papers on project management topics, speaker at national and international congresses; he is also teacher for courses on project, risk and contract management. An Honorary Fellow of IPMA and some IPMA Member Associations, Roberto has served as an Honorary Global Advisor for the PM World Journal since 2015.

He has been awarded the Star of Merit for Labor by the President of the Italian Republic.
