Access to new resource related to sustainable infrastructure projects added to PMWL
Resource provided by Victor Dantas
23 March 2022 – São Paulo, Brazil – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to sustainable infrastructure. The new resource is titled “Delivering sustainable infrastructure: Insights from industry leaders”, an interview with Lara Poloni and Nick Smallwood for Voices on Infrastructure, an initiative from McKinsey & Company.
The interview explored the experts’ opinion over their thoughts on the industry’s role in delivering sustainable infrastructure due to climate change and its consequences. They were asked what are the three biggest obstacles to delivering sustainable infrastructure nowadays, to which they came into agreement in one common challenge: there should have effective policies from governments that support market transition to net-zero emissions.
Alongside this interview, both of them emphasized how important is to introduce new technologies and materials to achieve sustainable infrastructure targets. They also agreed that industry should focus as well on already existing structures rather than constantly building new ones; retrofitting then should remain a viable option to industry players and clients in terms of low-carbon solutions.
