12 November 2020 – Nagpur, India – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to Change Management and Project Management. The new resource titled “The integration of project management and organizational change management is now a necessity” is a paper by Henry A. Hornstein, published in The International Journal of Project Management in February 2015.

Through the use of literature and terminologies, the author tries to bring together the complementary and mutually supportive disciplines of project management and change management. The two domains involve different functional and educational backgrounds, emphasizing different skill sets and competencies. However, taken together they contribute to the successful implementation of a wide variety of projects. The paper also stresses the fact that competition between change managers and project managers is counterproductive and an obstacle to project success. Rather, cooperation and collaboration are stressed as necessary behaviours for effective project implementation.
