Resource provided by Milan Choudhury
23 March 2020 – Mumbai, India – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to program/project benefits management. The new resource is titled “Benefits Management Process Complements Other Project Management Methodologies”, by Ioannis Karamitsos, Charalampos Apostolopoulos and Moteb Al Bugami published in the Journal of Software Engineering & Applications in September 2010.
The paper highlights the complimentary role of the benefits management approach to common project management methodologies. This approach stresses on analyzing benefits prior to starting the project management activity.
The benefits management framework is defined and described in detail, including the key ideas behind the framework. Its five interconnected stages namely; benefit identification, plan realization, plan execution, result review, and further benefits, are described in detail. This is followed by do’s and don’ts while following the benefits management approach. The latter half of the paper draws a systematic comparison between PRINCE2 and the benefits management methodology.
