22 May 2022 – Almaty, Kazakhstan – Access to a new resource has been added to the PM World Library (PMWL) related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and project management. The new resource titled “The Last State of Artificial Intelligence in Project Management” is a paper by Mohammad Reza Davahli published online by arXivLabs in December 2020.
In this paper, the author investigates the application of Artificial Intelligence in Project Management using a systematic literature review. To create a database of a relevant literature for further analysis research was based on Web of Science, Science Direct, and Google Scholar resources. The author determined some inclusion criteria such as articles related to PM and AI, English language, publication year range from 2000 to 2019. After sorting, inclusion and screening, the authors came to 58 articles. To analyze papers Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses were used.
The literature review analysis was made to identify which AI models are effective and for which PM processes it would be more effective. The most commonly used AI techniques are support vector machine, neural networks, and genetic algorithms. Most frequently encountered PM processes are effort predictions, cost estimation, and project success factors. All research results are displayed in tables and maps so that even a newbie in this field can easily navigate and understand what is at stake.
