Book Review Program

PM World publishes book reviews each month in the PM World Journal (PMWJ), many authored by PMI members who can obtain professional development units (PDUs) for PMP recertification by studying a book and then authoring a book review.  In order to prove that the book review has been completed, that book review needs to be published - publication of book reviews in the PMWJ offers that option.

In addition, we can establish a formal book review program with professional organizations, as we have with the PMI Dallas and San Antonio, Texas and Silver Spring, Maryland chapters in the United States.  In that case, books are provided by authors or publishers (shipped to the PMWJ editor or shipped directly to a chapter book review coordinator), then books are given free to PMI members who commit to reading the book and preparing a professional review (in our standard format); book reviews are subsequently published in the PMWJ.

This has been a very popular program with multiple winners - Reviewer receives free book (often highly valuable), free PDUs, recognition in the PMWJ, and an author showcase in the PM World Library for ongoing visibility; PMI chapters receive publicity and credit for offering popular benefit to chapter members; publishers receive visibility and normally positive reviews of the books; authors of books receive free publicity.

If you are an author of a book review and would like that review published in the PMWJ, contact Editor@pmworldjournal.com

If you are a publisher of books related to program or project management, either directly or indirectly (i.e. leadership, teamwork, communication, construction, quality, contracting, supply chain, risk, organizational change, change management and other topics that might be useful for program/project managers or team members), and would like to have one or more of your books reviewed, contact Editor@pmworldjournal.com. To see examples of reviews of books from various publishers, visit the Publishers section of the PMWL here.

PM Book Review programs have also been established with PMI chapters in Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio, Texas and Silver Spring, Maryland, USA.  If you are associated with a professional organization that would like to establish a PM Book Review program, feel free to contact info@pmworldlibrary.com.

After publication in the PMWJ, all book reviews are archived in the PM World Library.  Authors of book reviews published in the PMWJ receive a free Author Showcase webpage in the PMWL where the author's profile and links to reviews and other works by the author are provided for easy access.
